ImageAs a consultant I operate on no fixed schedule and, thus, will gladly lead tours to any destination in any season. It is, as always, the client who decides. That being said, my experience has taught me that some places take on a certain magical quality at specific times of the year and I encourage my clients to consider this when choosing their vacations. Spring and fall, in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres, are by far my favorite times to travel. The summer crowds are gone, prices are lower, and the often harsh conditions of summer are replaced by a softer atmosphere, one much more conducive to getting a true feel for a country or region. The Dordogne and Perigord regions of southwestern France are truly magical in the spring. This is rural France at its finest. Autumn in Australia is a special time as well. The Yarra Valley in Victoria, nestled in the foothills of the Dandenong Range, and the Hunter Valley in New South Wales are renowned for their wineries, restaurants, and welcoming inns and the fall is a perfect time to visit. Then there are special periods when food takes center stage. White asparagus in France, Rock Oysters in New Zealand: virtually every region has its specialty and if you are fortunate enough to visit at the right time your trip will be even better. Even winter can be sublime. I once led a private luxury tour of Germany in the heart of January and the pristine beauty of winter captivated me. It is, to be sure, a different kind of trip yet we all agreed that for each of us it proved to be a memorable journey. A blanket of virgin snow as far as the eye could see; aperitifs in front of a warming fire; superb regional cuisine served in elegant atmospheres; museums and shops virtually all to ourselves: it only proves that any journey, at any time of the year, can be unforgettable.

Europe
Having lived or worked there since 1989, it forms the backbone of my business. I have to date led tours to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Italy.

Australia and New Zealand
Given the great distances involved many people are hesitant to commit to such a trip but I can assure you it is worth every minute. Although completely different, these two great destinations merit a visit in and of themselves but when combined work to complement each other perfectly.

Brazil
I have visited this fascinating country eleven times since 1997 and my love for it grows with each trip. Given the advantageous exchange rate this will continue to be a highly recommended destination.
